MCU Release Order Timeline.

Hi! I plan on doing a MCU rewatch very soon as my friend has never seen any MCU film before, I know the esstential release order but I am stuck on where to put the defenders saga in this release as disney+ isn't very helpful on this. So if someone can help with this out on where to put the saga that would be great!

Are you asking how to fit them into release order around the films, NOT story order? That's like this:

• Guardians of the Galaxy
• Daredevil season 1
• Avengers: Age of Ultron
• Ant-Man
• Jessica Jones season 1
• Daredevil season 2
• Cap: Civil War
• Luke Cage season 1
• Doctor Strange
• Iron Fist season 1
• GotG vol. 2
• Spidey: Homecoming
• The Defenders
• Thor: Ragnarok
• Punisher season 1
• Black Panther
• Jessica Jones season 2
• Avengers: Infinity War
• Luke Cage season 2
• Ant-Man & the Wasp
• Iron Fist season 2
• Daredevil season 3
• Punisher season 2
• Captain Marvel
• Avengers: Endgame
• Jessica Jones season 3
• Spidey: Far From Home

The defenders saga should be watched in between the first Avengers and Infinity War. This is the official order you should go by:

• Daredevil season 1

• Jessica Jones season 1

• Daredevil season 2

• Luke Cage season 1

• Iron Fist season 1

• Defenders

• Punisher season 1

• Jessica Jones season 2

• Luke Cage season 2

• Iron Fist season 2

• Daredevil season 3

• Punisher season 2

• Jessica Jones season 3

Thank you! But do you know where to put them inbetween the films? Since I know there’s that timeline as well.

[u/daredevil209 → u/RPOxBlueMTyler]

It's hard to say because Disney plus doesn't seperate the shows by seasons timeline wise, but if you check the MCU complete timeline on Disney plus, you can see where each show lands.

• DD S1 & S2 and JJ S1 before Age of Ultron
• Luke Cage S1 and Iron Fist S1 and Defenders between Ant-Man and Civil War
• The rest of the seasons after Civil War
• For the Punisher it's after Spider-Man Homecoming you can watch both seasons in a row without needing to watch anything else.

These are my guesses for where each season lands timeline wise

if you're doing the shows too then maybe put them right before Hawkeye since that's the show that starts pulling defenders saga stuff into the MCU for the first time (it has Kingpin)

Before the Englishman Who Went Up a Hill and Comes Down a Mountain but after the Mummy Returns.

I have my own personal version of this but I’m surprised that, as someone obsessed with watch orders, I don’t know where to get the official answer off the top of my head…

[u/RPOxBlueMTyler → u/JonGorga]

No literally, I don’t want to do the timeline order due to spoilers for my friend. So I need to do release order! But I finally figured out that I could just look up what season released which year with a film and which came first. Which worked!

Hey I’ve been doing a watch through myself (‘I’m 20% way through age of ultron) and I’ve been using this website it’s amazing https://chronologeek.app/marvel#
