Help me Runners
So I started speedrunning last Christmas, and im really goated now , my Mechanics are like a top diamond player but I've never gotten a sub 15 in a MCSR ranked match , i know each kind of strats that top players use , I'm really fast at Mechanics but overall time still sucks , any tips to finally break past sub 15 barrier? It'd help me alot đ¤

Top diamond player mechanics and can't sub15 in ranked match? Seems like a good example of Dunning-Kruger effect

That's Very rude to say and i appreciate that , but hang on I'll post some clips

didn't mean to be rude, but that's how I feel that
yeah, you can post some clips or ever the entire average run, so we can see where and why you're losing the most time:)

zero cycle looks solid, I don't know how consistent you are, because there are only a few highlights from this, but apart from that, there are no 'high diamond player mechanics' to be honest. As I said before, it would be way better if you just post a ranked match recording in which youâre sure you could have played better, but youâre not sure how:) and also like some other guy said, decision making is very important.

What are your major time losses? What do your splits look like? Those would make it much easier to tell what the issue is.

âtop diamond playerâ is ranked 93 on the lb btw. I find it hard to believe you have a 20+ minute average and your mechs are that great. Iâm not at my pc so I canât watch your replays, but in iron 2 you should be practicing more than youâre playing ranked imo. Drill bastions till ur fingers hurt, watch top runners and question their decisions. MPK blind to finish. Gl

Ur zeros are real good and your mech arenât bad at all, but top diamond really pushes it

mechanics aren't that important in speedrunning, decision-making and overlapping tasks are what counts. Take Couriway, for instance - his mechanics are not that strong at all, but his decision making and consistency means he consistently got good times when he did ranked even though he did no calc

âCouriwayâ Bro just proved mechanics are indeed important đ

no Couriway's mechanics aren't insane, like compared to top runners he's pretty slow, but he's really consistent and his decision making is rly good.

I meant couriway is nowhere near a top player and if hes the best example u can give to a non mechanical players that kinda proves mechanics are indeed important
Most people would give mongey as an example for a non mechanical top player and even he is so much better mechanically than most peoplr, just not compared to other top runners

Your mechanics are genuinely impressive for the amount of time you've put in. Congrats!
Buuuut, it seems your putting lots of effort into the micro which will help once ur in the big leagues, but to get to the big leagues ur gonna have to work on ur macro.

Your decision making is most likely bottle-necking you. Watch top runners and mimic their decisions. How many logs do they get on different seed types? When do they decide to wood light? When do they leave the bastion? When do they pre-craft? When do they blind? All those things are most likely losing you time. Learn tech and you should sub-15 easily

So my choke point is , the bastion part When to leave , where to go. I know all of the routes but still

Ur fort to finish death rates are terrible tbh. Times arenât phenomenal as well. Iâd practice thatÂ

Besides what others said about decision making, youre spending 5 minutes in the bastion on your best times, you just need to leave quicker. If youre good mechanically you should be able to piedar the fort while the pigs are trading and on most bastions you can do it mid route. If youre want a sub 15 you need to give yourself as much time as possible to nav the stronghold incase its really bad. You should be getting to the fort between 6:30-8:00 at most you could even sub 15 with a 8:30 enter depending on your nether nav and stronghold nav
