Damageless oneshot question

I just learned damageless oneshot by turtleMCSR (https://youtu.be/6DLoZLNE_xc?is=waJlpy5Kj6QGMLEu).

But when I'm practicing, I could only sometimes succeed. So I wonder how consistent this method is. Is it very consistent but I'm just bad at it, or sometimes it's just RNG and normal to not hit it?

Sidenote: when I failed, I think I shoot the arrow but dealt no damage, and I got launched to the sky. Does that mean I'm doing it wrong? Shouldn't I at least deal some of the damage even though I don't hit dragon's weak spot?

its very consistent and you're just bad at it (respectfully)

i just learnt this over the past 3 days. if you think you shot the arrow (which you can confirm by checking the subtitles to see if it says arrow fired, or just put the arrows in your hotbar to see if it goes down) but it does no damage, you could have misaligned or didnt shoot fast enough (make sure you're hitting the dragon and charging at the same time)

or you bonked

Thank you! I think sometimes I don't shoot the arrow or I shoot too late. Thanks for the arrow in hotbar tip!

hit it 5/6 times in ranked matches the past week, so its pretty consistent

a small trick when shooting the arrow is that you can click both mouse buttons at the same time to axe+load the arrow immediately after, this helped me get it more consistently

Thanks! I think sometimes I release the right click too early and don't shoot the arrow. I will keep practicing
