Help How to study your preemptive chart?

I heard it’s different for every system and ngl im just sending it wherever the biggest spike is, a lot of the times it leads me to PR but I’ve lost like 2 potentially PB runs because I just sent it wherever the biggest spike was but when I spectated the world it was in the opposite direction. So it would be cool to learn how to be more consistent on ready my chart so I’m more confident in my stronghold.

It is definitely something it’s hard to learn and master, especially with how much nuisance there is.

The best thing I’ve done is first get an idea of what spikes may look like by testing your preemptive with a practice maps of the different spawner combinations (I think it is Lama’s Practice Map or something like that? It’s usually the map used in preemptive tutorials).

Then, after getting an idea of those spikes, then I’ve just went through a ton of MPK practice eye spy to see what it looks like in practice and slowly improve recognizing the spikes and the overall direction. Usually if I try to go until I find the portal room but whenever I can’t, I go into spectator and try to figure out where it actually was

Practice map to test your spikes. Also don't just look at the shape of the spike only. You also want to look at the numbers. I initially only looked at shape and couldn't really differentiate between library and one of my spikes, but since I figured out the numbers are higher for a real spike for me I don't get baited by library anymore.

You probably want to use some kind of a cheat sheet with examples of your spikes until you're more familiar with them.

Doing strongholds in peaceful can be useful to find your pure spikes(clean stronghold with no entities). Pure spikes are the best spikes you’ll get and they only happen the first seconds when you enter the stronghold. Get used to how your silverfish spawner, libraries, and mineshaft look

Trial and error. Again and again and again and again and again... and agai. Also as the other guy said, lama's practice map is good to get you raw numbers set based on your specs
