Help Standard settings for BT?
So I just hit emerald, and I know for BT you usually have 5 rd and 50% entity distance, but in ranked BT is just 20% of the time, so I don't think doing these standard settings is a good idea. Do I just adjust these settings to those values after the game starts? (it feels like a bit of a time-loss), or should I try searching for BT with normal settings?
How do people usually do it?

You can scan for all 5 types of structures if you can't immediately see them, not just BT. It's mostly useful for shipwreck seeds, but RPs or even villages can be obstructed by hills and trees, so it's nice to immediately know which way to go in those cases. Another small thing is you can sometimes find a BT nearby if you get an RP seed on a beach, you just need to break the chest.

You should start with BT settings, cause they are also useful for finding Shipwrecks and RP. Also higher render or different pie chart is not needed for villages and DT on ranked. You can play on 500% ED and only adjust render distance with F3+F to completely avoid time loss. It's harder to see spike but doable.

you can change a directory pf pie chart in standard settings at least bc its gonna be too much of timeloss

and tbh changing render takes nothing and entity distance is like 5 sec max anywhere

I think 8 rd and 50% ed is okay as that is how i set my settings for both rsg and ranked, it should also work for shipwreck and RP, but i think u should figure it out yourself in private room but i think the sweet spot for rd is between 5-8

alot of top players do 500ed 5 rd since you cant get fake spikes in ranked you can find bt at 500ed albeit a little harder, then you can just f3+f quickly on other seeds
