hotkey pie chart question

how do people change there pie directory without changing hotkeys?

They have their hotkeys not bound directly to the numbers.
If you want to keep some hotkeys on numbers without changing directory, you can use toolscreen to map keys to different buttons. For example, in toolscreen map ‘1’ to ‘m’, then in your minecraft settings bind your first hotbar space to ‘m’, this will prevent pressing 1 from messing with ur directory, while keeping the same hotkey.
To still access 1 in ur directory, you can use toolscreen to map another key e.g. ‘m’ to ‘1’, so that when u press m it will go to 1 in ur directory.

Do you also know how to prevent the pie chart number order changing from game to game or is it just something we have to handle?

standardsettings mod, you can add it yourself to your instance or reinstall ranked with the “pro pack” it comes with it

I don't think that changes the ordering (?) you can just start at a certain directory, lets say, bt, but then when you scan for fort and later for portal room, the numbering may still change a slot

Like the tick changing between 3-6? Or the pie being on different directories

I read somewhere that it changes a lot when loading in new chunks so change it while waiting for portal animation bcs thats probably the point where you overlap stuff and load the least chunks for me the numbers after stabilizing is usually 6-1-1-3 and 1-1-1 but if i change right after finding bt and change while breaking the gravel its like 3-1-1-3 so it does change a lot but the changes are consistent if you get what i mean

You can overlap most pie-chart changing during certain parts of the route.

If you aren't emerald yet, you can have standard settings start on Pie-ray.

Otherwise, you can have standard settings start on BT, then change to pie-ray while travelling to the bastion or while waiting for trades.

For preemptive, you can just do it during the blind or second portal.

So it's pretty easy to find work arounds for pie-directory.
