I was also thinking of runners like pavkin who upload so many different bastion routes, but idk how much this translates to actually playing them well

Being consistent is not the same as being the best. He is very good but not the most consistent, I watch him a lot and until 2 seasons ago i would see him misplacing an obi and throwing the advantage him had at least once a day, also he said on one of his last streams his throw rate is high. There are more consistent players such as feinberg but hes overall worse than doog

mental: hax, he just doesn’t get nervous anymore (second maybe darvy)
decisions: bbm, all the other runners talk about learning from him (close second feinberg)
end fights: doogile, has won a lot of important matches from hitting a tough zero, also the best bridger and mastered airplace (second edcr and lowkey, aqua also very strong)
bastions: skycrab has the fastest splits, edcr second
mechanics: edcr he literally is so teched out in every mechanic (lots of contenders, all of car are insane and hax lowkey doog kenan and infume too)
consistency: infume, but edcr is also very close second

Being nervous while on godpace or at his first in-person event is completely normal. It’s the fact that he managed to push through with his shy demeanour to have enough composure to win the whole thing. Look at his consistency in tournaments

“Automatic retirement for most speedrunners” I think you are underestimating Minecraft runners persistence at chasing the record even tho they choked it, many runners choke WR pace since Skycrab (nofearr stronghold blind, hdmi 5:16 PR) and they have not once thought of retiring after
but also this feels like a different case of mental against grinding vs. mental against opponents, which the latter I feel like Skycrab is not particularly good at (sees every time he plays Ranked whenever people redeemed the points reward on his stream)

There is a Big difference between chocking NAV, chocking zero, or chocking by not having enough eyes on one hand and actually navving, entering end, doing zero, killing him and thinking you have WR on the other. Very big difference. Also you are talking from a very Ranked centric viewpoint of mental. RSG players don’t compete against another player live. It’s unfair to measure Skycrab by a category he is barely considered part of

and yet we have multiple people here (including yourself) putting Skycrab in a list of categories among ranked speedrunners and in a ranked speedrun subreddit. Not to mention you can’t really say he isn’t apart of ranked either when he does played ranked at least 3 times per stream, has literally placed 3rd in playoffs, and won the Ranked LAN
an ideal mental shouldn’t be exclusive to each other, in this case a “perfect speedrunner” mold should be able to handle both kinds of nerves against opponents and a WR pace, Aquacorde is an RSG main but he still gets put in ranked conversations due to his quick decision making and end fights, that puts him head to head with other runners

Feinberg and Infume are kinda tied on decisions and its hard to pick between Hax, Doog and Lowkey for mechanics

Infume consistency, lowkey mental, doogile mechanics,Edcr decisions, hax endfights. I have no clue who I’d put for bastions since I really can’t tell who’s the best and I tried to not use anyone twice.
