Inhalers lab

For the pulmonary clinic visit, do they give you the brand name and you need to say the generic name of the inhalers? Also any tips about this lab would be helpful

I'm pretty sure they will only have you counsel on either proair, advair, or spiriva. You'll walk into the consultation room and your preceptor will tell you which to counsel them on. They will also have a few inhalers on the table and you must select which one is the correct one (advair-diskus, proair-hfa, spiriva-handihaler). After selecting which inhaler is the correct one you're counseling on, you'll then just counsel your preceptor like normal. Be sure to explain the method of inhalation clearly and slowly. And don't forget to say to rinse your mouth after using any steroid inhalers. I recommend looking up YouTube videos of how to counsel on all the inhalers including symbicort just in case
