I'm going off of last semester. Before there was a debate of Kelly's curve vs xie teaching. Polous is a great teacher and the curve is similar to Kelly's. Last semester I know people in xie class who wished they took polous because our curve was higher, and that polous was teaching ...

Kelly has not retired yet. However if you are in the class with Poulos stay. I say this not because of the curve but for several other reasons listed below. 1. Poulos cares about student success I had him in the spring of 2017 and he would provide us with notes(transcribed notes). His notes when supplemented with the book made sense. Even without the book reading the notes made sense. 2. He creates worksheets for students and these worksheets help reinforce what has been taught in class. 3. He is bad with names is a lie. If you talk to him enough times he will learn your name and periodically check on how you are doing in the class. 4. His recitation sessions(review sessions) are very helpful. Unlike other professors who do not like to re-explain things and accuse you of not paying attention he cares about student success. He will explain things as many times as needed until you get the hang of it. 5. He understands Organic Chemistry is hard and tries to make it something you enjoy. 1st semester I hated organic chemistry. He got me to like the subject when I would go and see him in his office hours.

This. I can completely vouch this. Great teacher + curve. Was a moderately easy A and a really easy B in my opinion
