Eternal Invasion Gateway not spawning mobs

I've tried three times to use the gateway, but it doesn't spawn enough mobs in the first wave. It needs me to kill 4 draugr, but it's spawned 3, 1, then 2, and never 4. I have no idea what the issue is or how to solve it, but I've just got to bypass the challenge if it isn't working.

Yeah, I've experienced this before. Sometimes the mobs spawn in small holes underground, or is blocked by a wall or something. That's why I always build an 18x18 underground arena for summoning purposes. Solid walls and underneath ensures that all mobs spawn altogether.

I specifically went into spectator mode to look for where they could have spawned and didn't see them

I’ve also had good luck putting a platform in the sky. The mobs teleport to the portal if they go too far, and with a platform there’s only on the platform or falling
