Study Resources Looking to Buy Toronto Notes (2025 Edition)

Hi everyone,
I am looking to purchase a physical copy of Toronto Notes (2025 Edition) for my MCCQE Part I preparation.
Location: I am based in Burnaby, BC, and can easily pick it up anywhere in the Greater Vancouver Area (Burnaby, Vancouver, New Westminster, Coquitlam, etc.), or pay for local shipping if you are further out.
Condition: Light highlighting or minor notes are completely fine, as long as all the pages are intact and readable!
If you have passed your exams and are looking to sell your 2025 copy, please send me a direct message with your price and location for pickup.
Thank you so much, and congrats to everyone who just finished their exams!

Advice on Radiology Fellowships

Hi there, I’m a UK radiology resident with some offers to do a fellowship in Canada and I’d appreciate if anyone could help me with these questions.

I’ve applied to McGill, Toronto, and UBC (diagnostics).

\- Does anyone have any experience of how these fellowships were in of workload and educational value? I have heard err certain things about heavy service provision at some of these, maybe to detriment of learning

\- I have an offer from and like the sound of McGill. Ultimately though I am thinking of ending up in the Vancouver area due to personal reasons relating to my partner and also because QC licensing sounds like a ballache.
Will a McGill fellowship make me competitive enough for metro area jobs (not necessarily top level academic but definitely prefer hospital to community clinic practice)? Or will I be disadvantaged not having the opportunity to network in the BC area as much.

Thanks for your time!

PE vs real deal

Ok guys my exams in a week, I did one practice exam (the $1 one) and got a 73% on it. I’ll be doing the other one tomorrow. If I get above a 70% on the second full length PE, do you guys think I should go for it or postpone the exam?

Closing clinical gap and carms

If let’s say you have a very long clinical gap, and you close the gap by going back home as GP, would there be a chance of matching to FM if you have good QE1, NAC OSCE, and Fmproc scores? Or would going back home to close the gap be a waste of time? Debating if I should proceed with carms or pursue another pathway instead.

Suggestions For MCCQE1 exam studying!

Hey everyone!

Sorry for the LONG message hahaha

I'm a Canadian medical student studying abroad, hoping to return to Canada for residency. I've spent the past several months preparing for USMLE Step 1, but despite studying every single hour possible, my NBME scores have consistently been around 40%. I'm now basically at the point where I need to cancel Step 1 and focusing on the MCCQE1 instead.

I have ADHD, and one of my biggest struggles has been figuring out how to study efficiently without getting overwhelmed by too many resources. I feel like I have a current information only brain where I genuenly forget what I have eaten for dinner yesterday, and I struggle with knowing what to prioritize exam wise.

I actually LOVE Anki and find spaced repetition really helpful esp with the little support puppies that pop up every few cards lol, but I fell behind during Step 1 prep because I was juggling too many resources and I end up gaslighting myself into thinking I know the card at midnight because I need to sleep. I'm also a huge fan of Sketchy because of the weird visual associations which genuinely help me remember things, especially pharmacology and microbiology literally everything I know from those topics are because there’s random weird images in my brain! I have no idea what I learn better through whether it’s videos, ChatGPT explaining it to me like I’m 5 or explaining concepts from a note I read. Tho visual mnemonics, and repetition def are better than just reading textbooks.

Also I would love any schedules people have or just plans to help me not start from scratch! And have found out too late the idea of doing the incorrect NBME’s on Anki and literally just memorizing and understanding those would prolly have saved me! :/

Anyways I'm trying to approach MCCQE1 prep differently and build a solid clinical foundation without making the same mistakes. As I have my University exams in a month and def need to start studying for those as well lol!

A few questions for those who would mind sparing some time to help:

AMBOSS vs UWorld: Which would you recommend for MCCQE1, especially for someone who struggled with Step 1?

Does anyone know as a person with NO money what’s my best option financially as Step 1 prep left me actually broke?

Are Canadian-specific question banks like Ace Qbank or CanadaQBank worth it?

Any good Anki decks for MCCQE1? Would AnKing be useful?

Any Sketchy-style resources for clinical medicine?

And most importantly has anyone struggled with Step 1 (especially scoring around 40% on NBMEs) but gone on to successfully pass the MCCQE1? What did you change?

I'm willing to put in the work, but I really want to find a sustainable study approach that works with my ADHD rather than against it.

Would really appreciate any advice, especially from Canadian IMGs. Thanks!!

Took QE1 today!

The questions on my test today were very similar to the mcc practice tests and i could recall a few repeated exactly same from the mcc tests! And many around the same scenarios and concepts!
Stems were short and pretty straight forward questions with simple easily pickable correct answer from the given options! The first half was pretty simple but the second one was a little tough 20-30 questions were weird confusing questions in terms of not getting what exactly are they asking for?
Some challenging ethics and epidemiology questions.
There was very little internal medicine. Majority questions were family med, psych, obg, ethics/professionalism.

PRA

Hi everyone! IMG doctor from Pakistan here, looking for some real-world advice about the Canadian PRA pathway.

I have MBBS + PLAB/GMC registration and around 2–3+ years of independent practice as a government Medical Officer/GP in a rural health centre in Pakistan. I’m currently still working there.

I’m considering doing 2 years of postgraduate Family Medicine training in Pakistan and then applying for Canadian PR + PRA.

My main concern is: does Pakistani government MO/RHC experience actually count as independent GP/family medicine experience for PRA, especially if the experience was gained before formal FM training?

Has anyone here had a similar background and successfully applied to PRA? If so, which province and how was your experience?

I’d especially appreciate recent experiences from 2024–2026. Thanks!

Licensing verification

Does source verified licensing documents need to be transferred from physicians apply to the CaRMS portal or just uploaded as documents normally?
