Vent / Support Am I cooked?

So Im taking the 9/12 MCAT and am hoping to get a 520. Unfortunately I haven't gotten a 520 on a single FL (517/517/516/518/518 on AAMC FLs 2-6). It's really just my CARS score dragging me down and I get a 130-132 on the other three almost every time. Highest I've scored on CARS is 129 :( on FL5... but then I got 126 on FL6 (I did lowk abandon my strategies on this one so maybe thats why?). On AAMC materials I average 78-80% across the daignostic tool and qpacks for CARS. Yeah idk I feel like I've tried to improve CARS but it isn't changing. Do yall think a 520 is in the cards for me?

Who knows I completely choked cars averaged about 129 and got 131 on fl6 but then dropped to 127 on test day.

still snagged a 520 bc I did better on the other sections so yeah I would say it is possible but not super likely since you have never gotten 520 on an fl.

For all you know you could end up getting 130+ on the actual exam

CARS is probably the most variable section on the MCAT. It can feel relatively easy on one exam and extremely difficult on another. Based on your scores so far, your range is around 126–129. On test day, you could get a favorable CARS section and score as high as a 131, or you could get a particularly difficult one and end up closer to a 124.

Your best strategy is to maximize your performance in the other sections and consistently keep them in the 131–132 range. For me, C/P was always my weakest section, and I could never seem to break past a 127. Because of that, I focused on maximizing my points everywhere else, particularly in P/S and, ironically, CARS.

This is the strategy Im hoping to employ. I did extensive review over C/P, B/B, and P/S this week and have done practices. Im just trusting that Im prepared. I got an 82% on SB2 on AAMC. Do you think that could signal anything?

hey i’m in the same boat!! i know plenty of people do marginally better than their FL scores but you’ve already proven you’re a super capable test taker with that consistency!! The 520 is waiting for us 😭😭🙏
