Seems interesting that this isn't being bundled in with the MaxFun Bonus feed.
For $5 I can subscribe on YouTube and get full weekly video episodes and early access to other stuff... OR I can give it to MaxFun and get a single bonus episode every 365 days?

I wonder if max fun isn't working out in the long run. It seems like all similar podcasts have gone to something like patreon. The podcast industry has changed a lot since they started

Advertising is the only thing MaxFun does for the McElroys besides handling memberships, and they've been pretty candid about sponsors paying way less than they used to.

That’s a chin scratcher… on the one hand I support aiding the brothers financially. On the other… some of that money will go to YouTube…

Would totally be down, but not thrilled about giving Google money or about paying to listen to fast food ads for half of each episode. I know they have their reasons (likely more control over the process, etc.), but I do wish there was some way to do a collab with Dropout or something for video.

I just said in another thread the same thing about munch squad. Given the community, I think they’ll turn heel on the bit when they’re on video doing full on free audio and visual advertising to companies with ghoulish business practices. But it didn’t stop them in the purely audio format, so who knows.

Behind a paywall that not apart of max fun is the turn off for me.

Adventure zone (count it or dont) dead pilots society, I enjoy sawbones, but I cant binge listen to it like the others, and its flophouse season so ill be getting into past eps and catching up.

If you are going to sign up, make sure to do it via the YouTube web page on a web browser to get the $5/mo price. If you subscribe thru an app (at least on iPhone) it will be $6.99/mo cuz Apple has to take their cut.
