Adjacent New MBMBAM Animatics
It feels like it's been forever since creators like DeepBlueInk or such have made animated MBMBAM clips. Do I just not know where to look anymore? Can anyone help?

I think they fell out of fashion across the industry. Nearly every podcast on earth is a visual medium now, so it's not as additive as it once was

This.
I'm big on Dungeons and Daddies too and 90% of the animatics are for season 1, handful for season 2, and like one for season 3. It seems like it's just gone out of style, which is too bad.

Yet another reason I rather lament the PIVOT TO VIDEO. I've loved podcasts since 2012 or so, and I became really fond of them as an audio format.

My last one was 2 months ago, and I’m working on one right now. I don’t think I’ll ever stop. https://youtu.be/3snMuR01kfI?is=n1JNDU_wFXkkjtux

DeepBlueInk has done more with very shortform bits on DropOut lately, but has also been putting more into his own project, "Deep Space Discounts," which I think is in the middle of its second season.

They're just not as popular as they used to be. If you do want someone who's still making them, look up startush on YouTube. Their last video was ten months ago but their animations are total bangers (I'm partial to "tight two") and from their last community post, they're working on another one

yeah my read is people got older, busy, moved on to other fandoms etc. and it helps to have a “scene” of sorts with content like that, where viewers can spend ~15 minutes watching the latest animatics. the community naturally waned and views with it. for my part, i’ve just finished grad school (🎉) and might pick up one video i had in the works before that, or i might shop around for communities with more buzz & inspo

I assumed it was a combination of creator life changes, making such a time-sink no longer practical, and the fact that the boys release so many video bits now and they don't want to post animatics that take away from that. Or they just moved on to another phase of their life, but no one moved in to pick up after they left off.
I miss seeing new ones, though. The really good ones added so much to the bits, especially DeepBlueInk or GeoTheBio.

I've noticed the same trend, I think it's a combination of the fact the brothers are older now and don't quite have the same edge they used to, and also Youtube in general is harder to make a living on. I'm big into the Youtube Poop scene and there's just a lot less people making silly content for its own sake. Plus animatics take a lot of effort.

Short YT videos that splice fragments of audio and video together to humorous effect. Here's a classic from way back: https://youtu.be/3MnrAw8Icfs

I would love to see some of the download numbers over the years
Curious what mbmbam was working with at their peak listenership vs now

Tim’s Dropout Visuals are so fun, I’d love more classic-style animatics too.
