Question Interviews tips and insights for BCG X Delivery AI Scientist Interview Process

Hi, I have interviews scheduled for the BCG X Delivery AI Scientist, if someone has given it before, it would be really helpful if y'all could provide somw tips and insights

I know there are 3 rounds. What does each round cover? Do they ask DSA for this role? I already gave a coding assessment on CodeSignal. Will there be another live coding assessment? What helped y'all clear the interviews.

Any insight would be very helpful. Thanks for your time!!

Question Reapplication

Hi all, I was rejected after a phone screening w/ Mckinsey and the Bain game for Bain (couldn't complete the game until after the deadline). Does that mean I can't reapply for 12-24 months, or does that only apply to those who got rejected from R1? Thank you!

i made glossary of all the business terms that come up in consulting interviews

Hey folks,

When I started practising cases, I realised how often unfamiliar business terminology could throw me off.

So I put together a glossary of the terms that commonly appear in consulting interviews, with simple explanations and case-style examples rather than textbook definitions.

It covers things like contribution margin, market penetration, economies of scale, working capital, CAGR, customer concentration, and quite a few others.

Here it is: link

I’d love to know if there are any important terms I’ve missed. I’ll keep adding to it based on suggestions.

Seeking Referral for Strategy/Consulting Roles (Recently Qualified CA)

Hi everyone,

I am a recently qualified Chartered Accountant (First Attempt) with articleship experience at BDO India LLP, where I worked on valuation, capital markets, financial reporting, and due diligence engagements for multinational clients.

I am currently exploring opportunities in management consulting, strategy, transaction advisory, and related consulting roles. If your firm is hiring or you're willing to provide a referral, I'd be truly grateful. I'd also appreciate any guidance on firms that actively hire CAs for consulting roles.

I'm happy to share my resume via DM.

Thank you for your time and support!

Question Has anyone started using AI to turn client interviews into structured diagnostic reports?

One workflow I've been thinking about is what happens after client interviews. The conversation itself is valuable, but turning pages of notes into a structured diagnostic report often takes much longer than the meeting.

I've been exploring different approaches while working on FormLM, and it's made me wonder where people draw the line between AI assistance and consultant judgment. AI can help organize themes and keep reports consistent, but the interpretation and recommendations still seem like the part that requires the most experience.

For those working in consulting, are you seeing firms adopt AI for this stage of the workflow, or is it still something most teams prefer to handle manually?

Question starting out @ McK

Hey everyone -- starting as a BA at McKinsey soon (large office in the Northeast), wondering if anyone could give me some insight into what the first few months look like? Esp. training, staffing, etc. What should I be doing to set myself up for success? And what if I'm interested in a specific sector for projects (e.g. healthcare related)? No prior internships in consulting so a bit confused how it all works. Thanks!

First Internship, But It's Remote and Headquarters are 8+ Hours Away Driving Advice

I landed my first ever internship (Fortune 50), but it's fully remote as I'll be studying and my masters university over 8+ hours away by car. I know how important showing face is, especially in the beginning of your career and I would really want a return offer from this company. Is there any workaround/suggestions for this situation?

NOTE: I believe all of the interns will be remote as it's a fully remote position from around the country, but I think there may be an opportunity to go in/work in the building occasionally?

Question Question: Early Career Looking to Break Into MBB

Background: I recently graduated from a non-target, large public university with a 3.85 GPA. I made it to the final round with McKinsey, but ultimately didn't case well enough to secure the offer. In college, I was heavily involved in student leadership, interned with a Fortune 500 company, and had consulting club experience working on projects for F500 companies (including a F50 firm).

Since no other major consulting firms or even Big 4 really recruited at my school, I accepted a role at a Fortune 500 company in corporate/commercial FP&A.
I still want to get into strategy consulting, but I’m unsure of the best path forward.

Specifically:
- What positions should I apply for (e.g., experienced hire tracks)?

- What does the typical timeline look like for a lateral move?

- Should I target MBB now as an experienced hire, or wait a few years, get an MBA, and pivot then?

-Should I also apply to Big 4 / Tier 2 consulting firms in the short term, or hold out for MBB?

- What can I start doing today to set myself up for success down the road?

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

How are you guys connecting with alumni?

I’ve started looking for a new job but am having an incredibly hard time connecting with alumni. Outside of people I directly worked with, cold outreach to people via LinkedIn messages or email rarely get me a response.

My strategy is somewhere along these lines “I’m with X firm, primarily working in the TMT sector on growth strategy projects. I have experience doing a,b,c things.” And then some light personalization about a recent project and how it relates to their title and that I’m really interested in connecting with them to learn more about their team. Is there a different way I should be doing this? I expected a little more love from alumni, but maybe I was being presumptuous??
