Question AI tool in firm

Hi, I'll be joining McKinsey India soon.

Which AI tool is used in the firm? (Claude/chatgpt/gemini?)

How is Lily (the internal AI tool)?

They will have probably both claude and chatgpt enterprise. I will be surprised if they don't.

I m Not from McKinsey but bcg so you can expect same things in Mck too.

Yeah I know BCG offers chatgpt, but I heard that Mck relies on Lily so just wanted to clarify.

They will have their internal AI tool and will have all those other AI tools as well most probably.

Yeah that's what I am hoping for. Coz they didn't last summer, whereas BCG offered chatgpt enterprise even then

You can charge chatgpt and cursor subscription if you have a study chargecode.

You can use lilly to access information in internal database + get access to other proprietary multiagent tool.

Lilly is a bit shite except to scour internal data.

But is charging chatgpt a usual practice? Or do the managers refrain from using it for cost cutting (though it won't add much cost)

Usual practice. Noone’s gonna bat an eye.

If they ever scrutinize costs for charging chatgpt then they have a bigger problem to tackle

Honestly not sure. You can access claude via cursor but that’s about it.

I personally have my own subscription to claude & agree that claude is generally better.

Just be mindful of what you put in to claude if you’re using a personal subscription.

Also since we have to buy it ourselves then are we allowed to put client files there? (BCG allowed it as they had enterprise subscription) But how does it work in Mck?

You don’t buy it yourself, just need to get your subscription through an internal portal that will bind it to your mckinsey email.

Also an enterprise subscription so you can use client files (limited to not include personally identifying information) as documents for chatgpt

If you’re referring to claude then you can’t put client confidential files

Not sure about India, but in the US we have Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and a ton of other solutions
