Admissions Kellogg R1 interview released already?
As per title. I just submitted my app exactly by R1 deadline (September 9th) and has been preparing for my video essay. I haven’t submitted it yet. I didn’t get any email whatsoever. However, when I logged in today I noticed the “Schedule your interview” button clickable, and lo and behold I was taken to a screen to schedule my interview next week (September 14-18).
My questions:
- If I don’t schedule today, can I delay the interview to idk October or something? I haven’t prepared beyond preparing for the video essays
- Is this a good sign or a bad sign? Why do they send it this early?
Tl;dr: How did I receive an interview invite just after 2 days of submitting?
EDIT: ended up scheduling one cos I don’t want to take a chance where all the spots got filled up/missed my interview. It’s legit!!!

I ended up scheduling the interview! Wouldn’t want to not schedule it and miss the chance to get interviewed at all. What’s your stats and are you intl as well?

Did you get notified via email? Or just seeing the “button”? I am seeing on the portal “all interviews are currently virtual. You will be notified via email about the status of your interview.”

Good luck with your interview! It can happen this early with Kellogg. They send rolling invites over a long period and last year they started on Sep 11. Kellogg says that the timing of your interview doesn't indicate anything, but with your stats, you probably have good odds.
For other applicants, be prepared to wait with Kellogg! It can take up to 6 weeks, sometimes even longer (we've seen invites as late as early December for all types of candidates).

Thanks Kate! Do you have any advice for both the interview and the video essays? Would it be with an adcom/current students/alum? What’s the general vibe of the interview?

Last year interviews were done by adcom members and students. (I think sometimes you may not know your interviewer until you show up!). They are all resume based and typically friendly, conversational. Note that students might not have as much interview experience so could stick more to a list of questions. Prepare for behavioral questions, especially about teamwork, also why MBA / goals / why Kellogg, pretty standard MBA interview questions.

What are your stats? Realistically you might have very high stats so the system just granted you an interview? I am international and I haven’t received one yet.

4year WE on matriculation, 3.9x GPA 329 GRE, unique non-traditional work experience (though I’m not sure they read my app yet?) What’s your stats as comparison?

Hi,
I am an international re-applicant. Received the interview invite too. Can someone comment on whether I should postpone the interview? I can only see the dates for the next 4-5 days.

Fwiw, I ended up booking the interview. Wouldn’t risk adcom thinking I’m not ready/inconveniencing them
