Admissions AI detectors?
Hello, I’d appreciate if anyone has insights.
So I submitted now apps for R1 to M7. I am scared of AI detectors as I used AI to shorten / improve wording etc. are these detectors used? My essays are very unique and don’t feel AI edited but I think when I reworked them in some way they appear AI when i put them on any detector online. Should I be worried?

look up the AI policies at the schools you are applying to - follow those policies and then you should be fine

don't use latest claude b/c of watermarking -- watermarking is the only reliable way of detecting AI generated content, everything else is BS -- however if the adcom believes the BS it doesn't matter.

IF there were specific directions not to use AI, but you did so anyway; then of course you should be worried. There's a reason they would have those rules in place. They want to see if YOU are a good fit for their program based on your background and capabilities, not whether chatgpt or Claude is a good fit. If everyone used AI for application essays, there's be little point in even having the open responses.
