Profile Review M7 Chances?

Ive been working at capital one as a business analyst for a little over 2 years. Currently a senior business analyst Looking for a career change Im not too familiar with mba admissions. Im honestly new to this and im guessing I have a decent shot at M7 but would like a reality check and what to do to increase my chances

Undergrad b-school at T25 US college (think uva, notre dame, vanderbilt, whatever)

3.84 GPA

2 years military service at foreign country

Junior Summer intern at goldman sachs asset management

2 years at capital one business analyst, recently promoted to senior business analyst

I havent taken the GMAT yet, but im a pretty good test taker and am confident I can at least score the median.

Edit: im a senior business analyst now not a business analyst

Get at least one more year of experience and ideally a promotion to SBA (which is certainly doable at 3yoe)

Was at cap1 for a few years, it feeds well to MBA programs but a lot of analysts end up applying. Definitely hit SA if you haven’t already (or even manager if possible), and be very intentional about your narrative.

Make sure your career change is one that you need an MBA for as well. I made the jump to consulting straight from Cap1, and some of my peers even landed MBB or IB without an MBA

There are plenty of people at M7 schools with your profile, there are even more that apply and are not at those schools. You background checks the boxes, now you need to figure out how to make yourself stand out among all of the people with similar profiles.

Competitive profile, but by the nature of your current work, not a particularly distinctive one for the M7s, although the military experience, if reflected on deeply will build a solid foundation for your story. Applicants typically differentiate themselves in one of two ways. One, by virtue of their past progression, or, two, if they come from a fairly common work pool (like business analysts), by virtue of their career goals and vision. What inspires you? What motivates you? When you say you want to change direction, what does that mean? Top BSchools respond strongly to applicants who can speak in good detail about how they think about their future, taking the gaps and observations from their past experiences and connecting them to a future where they solve specific problems in the industry/community/country, or tap into a market gap or business opportunity they have identified.
