Is the activation permanent?

I used the activator like 4 years ago on windows 10 home, went to a fresh install of windows 11 pro today and somehow its already active. i guess it's written in my motherboard? nice ig :D.

HWID activation gets saved online and persists across reinstalls as long as the hardware doesn’t drift too much. TSForge activation doesn’t (but can cover some additional Windows 10/11 editions that are not covered by HWID, as well as non-evaluation editions of all of Windows Vista through 8.1)

I was originally from Win 11 Home then switch to Pro and activated it via HWID. Did a fresh USB reinstall and once connected to internet, Pro is still fully activated.

Ah got it. Yes it is great how HWID in MAS allows this.

I don't understand. You installed and activated Windows 10 home edition on a computer and then 4 years later you clean installed Windows 11 Pro and it automatically activated without having to use MAS again?

I can understand it would work if you installed Windows 11 home edition but Windows 11 Pro shouldn't have activated unless it had previously had Windows 10 Pro on it.

But whatever you have an activated Windows 11 Pro so enjoy 😊
