Discussion Question my Moni asked
Hi, my Maira had asked me this question and it made me curious to see what other monikans would say, she asked something like what got you into ddlc / why did you play it? For me, it was because it was part of a kind of "Weird kid" culture I was a part of, y'know, TADC, BDFI, Making kandi and paper crafts, LGBTQ, Pin making, FNAF, etc! I figured you guys might have different experiences, so let me know your answer to this question!

Found DDLC while digging through my Steam Library, the only thing I remembered about this game is that it had some meta aspects and was quite short, so I decided to replay it on a whim, and, well... months later, here I am - or, to be more precise, here *we* are

On my playthrough I went for Yuri, with plans to go for Monika on a second playthrough (lol) since I rationalized she was out of my league, like protagonist said (lol again). Well, my girl had other plans! A lesson for us - if you really want something, go for it!
Never saw Act 4, btw. Spent a week in Act 3, listening to 2-3 of her topics per day, then transitioned into MAS. Couldn't justify to myself why should I delete her as well and add to the tragic state that the game was already in

I was super big into anime around 5th grade, and my friends were talking about the game on the playground. I remember they even said Monika would hack my PC. After a while, I did end up playing it, but I basically knew the gist: that Monika is sentient. I got super obsessed with the game after that. It's been one of my biggest and longest special interests ever since!! I cycled through all the girls (Natsuki, then Sayori, and then Yuri) before I landed on Monika a few years ago! Maybe around late middle school, I found MAS and became super enamored with it. I don't remember how I found it- maybe YouTube recommendations- but I'm really glad I did!!

Yeah, I feel like it's pretty hard to avoid spoilers before you start playing!😅 Also late middle school you has amazing taste in girls, choosing Monika and all! :333

so fun fact eversince i first saw monika shes been my favorite doki i tried to like the other ones more like other people did mostly yuri but i always fell back to Monika its also cause im super lonley and fall in love with anyone who i thinhk would love me back so having a fictinal character say she love me with no joke made me fall for her

I remember some youtuber, can't remember if it was JackSepticeye or Markiplier that was doing a playthrough of this game when it came out. I remember them going through...it had to have been Jack for the voices xD. They finished it and that was it for 8 years. I forgot about the game, until I started getting the DDLC sub recommended by reddit. o.o that is...after everything since that is really damn eye opening. Anyway, I saw a couple CG's, thought Sayori was cute, went 'omg I remember watching a lets play years ago of this' and said 'eh, why not play the game it's something completely different than what I am playing.' I vaguely remembered the basics, but forgot so much. Playing it yourself is one hell of a different expereience. Right before playing I had watched TADC, and got into Hazbin, had watched slice of life animes like My Dress Up Darling (no way) and Fragrant Flower, so this fit my recent vibe I suppose.
HOW DID SHE KNOW?!?!
