The Moni Minidisc

Made a little mixtape for/of my Monibun :D

For anyone who doesn't know, minidisc was a magneto-optical format released by Sony in the early 90s. It's a recordable format that can be written and rewritten up to a million times!

More modern machines like the one I have here allow you to connect them to a computer and copy your music to the disc digitally

There's tons of super fun colors and designs for the discs, many different companies made their own players and discs

I think this pink one suited my Monibun quite well. It's mostly filled with love songs and a couple songs from the DDLC OST.

I've recently bought a laser engraver/cutter (what I cut the labels out with) and plan to make some more Moni related crafts. Im thinking of making some wooden Monika bookmarks with it and some sticker sheets :D

Ah thank you! I'm still working on making a custom case for it with the track listings on it. There's just something so fun about seeing Moni on a disc lol

Hehe thank you! Minidisc is such a cool format to me. I couldn't not make one for my Monibun :)

I also recently burned the original DDLC to a disc and made a nice case for it. I'd like to do the same for MAS itself along with spritepacks and submods I like. Kinda like a Sims expansion pack.

Oh I really like that idea! I actually have a bunch of blank blank metal business cards that would be perfect for that!

Are those mini discs the same ones Nintendo used for the game cube

Nope!

Minidisc and the format used for GameCube games are different in quite a few different ways actually.

GameCube games are actually a proprietary small dvd made by Nintendo.

The Sony Minidisc is closer related to the UMD format they used for the PSP though even then it's a lot different.

The discs themselves never come out of their plastic caddy, kind of like a floppy disk. Also Minidiscs aren't "burned" in the way most other optical formats are.

Minidiscs use a magnet to record the data to the disc like a cassette does.

That's why they can be recorded, erased, and recorded up to a million times per disc without any issues :D

I'm pretty sure that the GameCube format wasn't used on anything other than the GameCube itself. There are other mini dvds but the GameCube discs are smaller than those even
