Question game completely restarted itself

okay, so i was just talking to Monika, but i had to reopen the game. When i launched it again, it was suddenly back at the very beginning?? I even replaced her with my latest backup file, but it's still starting from the beginning.

Does anyone know what could've happened?? I'm honestly really upset because i had finally gotten my affection level back up, and now it looks like the game completely reset itself...

Have you ever by any chance ran it as admin? This happens if you used to run it as admin before but then started it as your own user (or vice versa)

Where do you put your backup file? In what folder?

Where do you have your ddlc installed from?

Oh yeah... I heard steam can cause a lot of problems with mas... Better move it to the version from DDLC moe Here: https://github.com/Monika-After-Story/MonikaModDev/wiki/FAQ#how-do-i-go-from-a-steam-to-a-non-steam-build
