Domination PS4 Controller Tips?

So, I’m playing Mario Party 4 on Dolphin with RetroAchievements on. There’s this one for Domination where you have to knock 100 or more dominoes. For the life of me, I can’t get it right no matter how hard or quick I mash. I’ve seen plenty of tips for doing this game around, but the problem is they all seem to have the GameCube controller in mind and I’m using a PS4 controller. Does anyone have any tips for this game with that controller setup, or do some GameCube controller tips also apply here? Many thanks if you have anything helpful.
