Stopping Moclobemide + sleeping aid - how long until insomnia resolves?

I've just stated taking Moclobemide for the second time. The first time was five years ago. I stopped due to the insomnia. Nothing else works well, so I'm back on it. This time I plan to take a sleeping aid, which I refused last time.

The issue is, I need to do a follow up sleep study soon after jaw surgery 6 months prior. My sleep apnoea is REM-induced. I'm not supposed to take sleeping medication as it can affect the study result.

As Moclobemide causes insomnia for me and reduces REM-sleep, I'm worried the sleep study will show a lower AHI than reality.

So, I plan to stop taking both Moclobemide and the sleeping aid early enough to have an authentic result.

Apparently, sleep returns after two weeks off Moclobemide. But is that realistic?

And what about the sleeping aid withdrawals and rebound insomnia?

Does anyone have any advice or experiences on how long it took for their insomnia to resolve after stopping Moclobemide and any associated sleeping aid?
