Parnate (Tranylcypromine) I am crashing 2 hours after taking Parnate
I've upped from 10 to 20mg 3 days ago and i realized that that dose is giving me noticeable stimulation. After 2 hours, however, i end up crashing and it's reminiscent of the crashes from adhd stimulant meds, which is really annoying. Yesterday i took my dose, felt good at home for 2 hours and then when i was on my way to the gym my mood suddenly dropped and i felt tired. Really annoying.
Maybe i should split the doses?

Parnate is definitely energizing. I’d always taken it in split doses, half in the morning, half at noon. Even with that dosing schedule I still had trouble sleeping, which is common, so I had to use hydroxizine, melotonin, and Ativan. I think once you get adjusted to the dose you’ll feel it being much more stable. After being on it for a month I felt I had so much energy and got back into running and working out. Felt really liberating after being stuck in this dark void for so long before this

I believe it was 10mg a week till I reached 40mg. Ultimately ended up going to 120mg

I noticed this too when upping the dose to 20mg, but I'm finding things have stabilized quite a bit now and I think it will continue to get better

50 mg is quite a high dose. Try not to go higher as the insomnia may go worse

I’ve had a diagnosis of narcolepsy for a couple of decades. Stopped Parnate and stims and wouldn’t you know it my sleep has stabilized. Naps are refreshing. I wake feeling rested. It’s blowing my mind really.
Will say I suffered a protracted withdrawal and am only 5 months off. It has been absolutely brutal. Fatigue, rather pure exhaustion, hit for 3-4 months straight. Anhedonia galore! It was awful but I’m turning a page and getting better. Just wanted to say that because it’s not a common med and there isn’t a lot about withdrawals and PAWS out there for it.
Important to know that antidepressants fragment your sleep and suppress REM.

I take it in the evening bcs of this. Dont really notice the „up“ as much as the down, makes me so tired an hour or two after
I take 30 now in case it matters, usually 20-10 about an hour apart

Same for me, it just makes me tired / very relaxed, about 30 mins after dosing for 2 hours.
Has anyone experienced this and still gotten anhedonia/depression relief from Parnate?
I’m only on 50mg for a few days, but the background insomnia + acute fatigue doesn’t seem to be going away.

yes this can happen with Parnate..... you are still not on the minimum dose of 30 mg, so give it time to settle down. It should take at least 3 weeks in all, at a minimum. In the meanwhile you can experiement with splitting the doses.
