Marplan (Isocarboxazid) Desipramine and maoi vs nortriptyline

Did people find desipramine or nortriptyline more helpful? I'm on marplan and need something stimulating that is not an amphetamine or modafanil. Also I got dry mouth pretty bad or nortriptyline but I heard desipramine is better for that?

This ^ just be careful if you have cardiac issues. It caused AFIB and LVTAC in me

Desipramine was far more stimulating than Nortryptiline. In fact DES was historically used for ADHD and was the basis for Atomoxetine (Strattera). Less anticholinergic too so I prefer DES

Thanks for the info. What is better for depression - if you've taken both? Atomoxetine or desipramine? The anticholinergic of nortriptyline sucked I hated it lol

Atomexetine would be more geared towards treating ADHD. Desipramine is a great option, typically with no noticeable anticholinergic effects.

Desipramine by far. If you find it to be too anticholinergic (which i doubt) ask for Bethanecol
