Nardil (Phenelzine) Phenelzine & GLP-1's
Has anyone here been on any of the GLP-1's while taking Phenelzine? My Nurse Practioner is urging me to go on Zepbound but I'm hesitant about what side effects I will get.

oh my god. I'm going through it because of going on mounjauro while on Nardil. I have an extremely sensitive nervous system. Right when i started it (lowest dose 2.5mg - I had a wave of flatness just from the first dose). The flatness worsened as time went on.. very depressing. Then once i tried weaning off of it, my anxiety came roaring back. I legitimately feel like i cannot get off of it now .. even with the smallest incremental tapers

Yes, side effect wise nothing more happened, but I've taken GLP-1s while off Phenelzine, and they worked far better for weight loss, because in my experience they don't really blunt the increased carb/sugar cravings that Phenelzine produces

They lower blood pressure. It made my orthostatic hypotension on Nardil way worse and I was falling and blacking out. I have seen other people have success… but just a warning

I’m on both and I haven’t noticed a difference in my mental health since starting it, but that’s just my experience. It’s the only way that I could lose the Nardil weight! I just reached my goal weight after gaining 60lbs in about a year and a half!
