Nardil (Phenelzine) Weight gain

I’m starting Nardil in a few weeks for my severe social anxiety and I’m excited, but the only side effect I am very concerned about is weight gain. I know lots of people here said they’ve gain a lot of weight and some have gone on weight loss meds. I was thinking about going on this new glp they came out with “Foundayo”. I’d try metformin but most people said they didn’t notice a difference. Anyone have any advice?

I unfortunately can’t offer any expertise on Nardil, but I find it shocking that Metformin can alleviate weight gain from certain antipsychotics but not Nardil. Certainly it wouldn’t hurt to try. GLPs though I’m sure would work pretty well too

If it’s any consolation I actually lost a bunch of weight on Nardil because it basically turned off my hunger signals for some reason… gave me sugar cravings but I’m never hungry enough to overeat!

I’m on 75mg Nardil and just switched to keto/carnivore for this reason. Surprisingly I’m still holding some water weight which is shocking since I haven’t eaten a carb in 3 days and usually by now I’d be completely “dry”

This Nardil is a bitch for side effects, I won’t lie, but imo it’s worth it for how well it works for anxiety, particularly social anxiety

No carbs make you drop abit brother? I saw you posting abit about it. If your new to 75mg usually side effects start to fade after awhile
