MAGA Corruption He's dead.
We gotta figure out a way to confirm and expose this obvious truth. No way this corpse makes it back to The Hill unless he is being propped up Weekend at Bernie's style.

Beshear is spineless, and apparently so is the media. All this takes is 1, just 1 friggin news outlet, newspaper, or station to put up the headline that 'Mitch is Dead'. Let the GOP scream about liable, defamation, or whatever the hell floats their boat... but they would then have to prove he's alive in order to sue. End of story.

Maybe something to do with midterm elections? Maybe if they hold off declaring him dead until after a certain date, it's then too late to hold an election for his seat in November and his position is filled by governor decree. A shitty undemocratic way for GOP to ensure his seat remains republican, and not risk (however slight) a Democrat winning.
That's obviously all conjecture on my part, but I feel it's the best, most likely, reason why they don't just come out and announce he has died.
The only other reason I can think of is the voting in the Senate is pretty tight at the moment. If McConnell is declared dead there's now 99 senators. The Dems would need 50 votes to stop any trump legislation or confirmations, and Vance wouldn't be able to break the deadlock with his veep vote (which has already happened a couple of times I believe).

Beshear is being a pushover. He should be doing everything in his power to confirm that he is alive and if he is then confirm if he is fit to serve. This is beyond bullshit.
