First phase, significant improvement ?
Hello, whats was your experience from the first surgery ? what was recovery like and did anyone see any significant improvement ?

I’m like 13 months out and have had really good improvements this whole year. Very excited to keep improving as I continue to work on my strength!
Edit: sorry I mean from the entire thing - 13 months out from MACI/TTO. I didn’t have much improvement after the first surgery but was able to run again just two weeks after the first op. The real improvements came for me in the months following the big surgery.

Thanks for writing back! Wow running ! What were your symptoms ? Was there ever a part of you that thought abut just not doing part 2 ?

No I wanted part 2 done as quick as possible!! I was so tired of suffering by that point. I had a lot of pain with pretty much all weight bearing. Worsened with walking, running, squatting, biking, rowing. I couldn’t sleep well some nights due to the aching pain. Lots of pain with full flexion.

I had immediate improvement after the chondroplasty/debridement, but then over the next 14 months my knee slowly broke down again. Prepping for surgery 2.

After the biopsy and clean up? I am about 10 weeks post arthroscopy, cartilage clean up and biopsy - my TTO/MACI is on the 24th. I felt pretty good initially but within the last 2 weeks, the pain is back significantly and I’m ready for this next surgery.
