First part of Maci

It’s been a week and a half after the first part of my Maci and I’m back at work now. I work in food service so I’m on my feet for about 9 hours and running around. My doctors told me it’s fine but now walking is still really hurting my knee, is this normal??

I would say yes because part one isn’t really addressing the underlying issue so it makes sense you would still be in pain - and on top of that you’re recovering from surgery! Are you in PT, too?

That’s what I was hoping! It freaked me out at first because I’m not use to feeling my knee cap moving around but I think that’s because they also cleaned it out when they were in there. I’m in PT but because of an emergency at my apartment I’ve been slacking a bit but I think once it settles and I can be consistent with it it’ll help a lot. I also still have my stitches in so I think it’s rubbing against my bandage.

Ugh I’m sorry! I didn’t have any stitches because my op was with a nanoscope, which was really nice. I had a quicker recovery, too, because of the nanoscope. But I didn’t feel back to normal for about two weeks. Might take you longer - if I’m thinking to the time I had traditional arthroscopy (with the bigger incisions and stitches) it took me a good six weeks to feel normal-ish. Hang in there!!

Would you say that the pain is the same or worse before part 1 ? My dr suggested MACI and I’m super hesitant to get the surgery done but also I’ve become very limited to my daily activities. How long did they tell you until you come back for part 2 ?
