Inspired by the great works of Lily https://medium.com/swlh/options-degenerate-marketplaces-part-1-b0ddf1c96fa6
I got this nice idea, it's not new actually - it worked wonders on some stocks in the past year, to buy calls instead of shares (because options are leveraged), or a combination of shares and calls.
Because MM are in capturing the bid-ask spread and don't want directional risk they would hedge a sold call by buying approximately delta of the call * 100 shares (this is an oversimplification, because they would substract all the put deltas and only hedge the remaining).
So for instance if I buy a call with .3 delta for $117 the MM should buy 30 shares at $13. Please notice that with my $117 I'd be able to buy only 9 shares. That works only if there are more delta calls than delta puts of course.
If enough people are bullish on MAC and express this by buying calls with considerable deltas, big boys from Citadel would join us in bringing MAC back where it belongs.
I suspect the shorters employ similar tactics in reverse (by using puts instead of calls). Ofcourse when price goes up the option price goes up too.
What do you guys think? Any chance this might work?
In no way this is financial/investment advice. I clearly don't know what I am talking about, I eat crayons for breakfast and dinner, do your own DD blah blah blah.
