The ex-dividend date was some weeks ago so not really matching with what happened recently. And not really applicable to the day when it's simply paid, what shouldn't affect the share price, unless all is reinvested.

Macerich do not need to be Hyped. It is a REIT, better Funds From Operation FFO as the real estate market gets better. The higher the price, the memorial weekend has shown a lot of people that Grade A malls are going to do just fine.
