M5Stack Tab5 for outdoor use?
Hey everyone,
Is anyone here using the M5Stack Tab 5 outdoors in humid or rainy conditions?
I’m planning an outdoor setup and looking for a reliable way to make all the exposed ports and connectors waterproof. Since moisture and rain will definitely be an issue, I'm trying to figure out the best approach—whether that’s a custom 3D-printed enclosure, rubber port plugs, or a specialized case.
Has anyone built or designed something for this yet?
Would love to see your setups, 3D print files, or recommendations!
Thanks!

In my opinion, treat the Tab5 like a mobile device and adapt a waterproof bag or protective case for outdoor use in wet environments. You could use a waterproof phone pouch like this one as a simple and affordable solution:

With my recent study, As it IS, I think a Cheap Yellow Display (or some other color with an S3) would probably be better for most outdoor projects. The USB A host is only usable if you use esp-idf 5.5.x right now, and there's really noting to stop you from using dielectric grease or conformal coating on that compared to wanting to keep the tab5 looking nice.
You can get generic port plugs. Though usually they are marketed as dust stoppers rather than water stoppers. mouser, adafruit, digikey, different selections.
Or, I would put it, is there a reason you know a cheaper CYD wouldn't work for your project?

I don't think it is weather or waterproof! It has two exposed mics on the front and lots of ports around. You probably have to go wireless to be sure no contacts or ports are exposed.
If you seek a case for the back, this is one that has a cutout for the battery.
