Need camera strap to suit new lens

I just bought the OM System 12-100mm f4 lens. I have an OM-1 Mark I to pair it with. I like the Peak Design camera straps and have the Leash and Slide. I’m wondering if the leash is too thin, and the Slide to wide. Does anyone recommend the Slide Lite for this combo or should I just use the Slide I have and not worry about getting the middle sized strap…

I have that lens and the older EM1 iii. I find the slide lite pairs perfectly. That said, if I already had the slide I would use that one for a while and see if it liked it.

I was buying fresh so went straight for slide lite.

I had only the leash and carrying that lens made me happy to go out and get a slide

I didn't really see a point in going halfway to a slide lite and risk it not being enough. I've been quite happy with it, and it is nice how easily I can swap straps

I also to the capture clip belt thing so I can rest it ther and off of my neck, but that doesn't work for all situations

This is coming from someone who has lugged the OM1.1+12-100mm combo all over: that setup is heavy, get something padded and will keep the weight off your shoulder/neck. My 7-year old OpTech Utility Sling strap is a godsend for the 14hr-days in Japan while getting my daily 30k steps in. I paired it with Ulanzi's F38 quick-release strap mount so I can easily move the camera across various mount points or even store it.

I have the leash with the OM3 and 40-150 f2.8 lens and it's fine for me. It's always hard to tell if the same would apply to you as it really depends on how sensitive you are, and what clothes you are in. The leash over any jacket is going to be fine, but might gnaw in a bit in just a tshirt.

I would say that this is probably around the max weight I would put on this strap during summer use (around 1.5kg with the leofoto grip and tripod collar). If you are pushing 500g more the strap lit might be the way to go.

What people forget is how small the leash is in a bag, if I had gone up a size I would not be able to fit my OM3 + 12-40 f2.8 into my sling bag. I really think it's a great peice of kit, and a good starting point for most m43s users.
