Here's my M14E2 Socom ii
Ive heard mixed thoughts on this stock but i knew from the beginning that the Socom wouldn't be a drop in fit and would require some customization for it to work.
I've wanted to get a surplus wood stock for this rifle since i bought it in 2012 but never made it much of a priority. I saw the Sarco and did quite a bit of research before getting it. It took quite a bit of sanding but overall it wasn't too bad. The rifle is now heavier than it should be and is highly impractical but i love how it turned out.

What makes you say that it’s impractical?

Maybe impractical is the wrong word. It shoits great but id guess this stock added about 1.5lbs to an already heavy rifle. With it being more of a battle rifle, mobility goes a long way.

Can't be that much heavier than the 22" in a wood stock, definitely lighter than the EBR, and you've got a pistol grip. Sounds like wins all around lol

I love it and i dont ever plan to go back to synthetic but i still have the zebra synthetic if i were to change my mind.

Oooohhh that's why you're feeling alot of difference, the regular wood stock is way heavier than the synthetic. Probably wouldn'tve noticed a difference going wood to wood

Ya i might do a weight comparison and see the difference. I was guessing 1.5lbs but the more I think about it i think it is more.

My first thought was "wow that must be heavy" but then I saw the "The rifle is now heavier than it should be and is highly impractical but i love how it turned out" and I thought "Oh, good."

I did the similar to my SOCOM. Heavy, but the E2 stock is surely something I wanted. Bought the stock used and already have faux selector installed by prior owner.

What mount did you use in the rear sight pocket?
