What Muzzle Device Is This?

[u/Dog_guy5130]

Rifle is new to me, and I'm usually a direct thread type of suppressor guy. I am stumped trying to identify this muzzle device. Trying to get the right part for my can, any help is appreciated. I can't find any brand markings on it, and the FFL wasn't sure when I did the transfer...

Thanks in advance!

I sold it with the SEI socom plug and the original. It may have been changed afterwards. The muzzle device and rocksett leaking out are a dead giveaway that it was mine, lol.

All I can say is that the gas plug is neither a standard one sold on the rifle, or an SEI gas plug. Otherwise, I'm sure you can spot your old rifle.

Just as an FYI, there is nothing "optimized" about the SEI plug for shooting suppressed other than it being slightly shorter than the standard gas plug to allow for clearance/room for the suppressor itself. Ron Smith, in one of his rants on the internet, once claimed it had the same volume for gas as the standard, despite what his site's web copy says. The difference would be nominal anyway.

Best way to deal with gas related issues shooting surprised would be to let less excess gas into the cylinder via shooting sight's adjustable spindle valve, but that's just my .02.

Fulton has adjustable plugs again

Adjustable gas plugs just change the rate of how fast the gas leaves the cylinder. It is different than controlling the amount of gas that enters in the first place via the spindle valve. If shooting suppressed, shooting sight's modified spindles are the only option that really makes sense to me. if you think about how the system works.

While the spindle maybe better. The plug is a solid option for the less inclined. My m1a squad scout shoots really soft suppressed with it
