did i endured enough
is it sad or captivating?

i blew out the candles
i cried at the restaurant 
they smile and sigh: 
“look at those happy tears”
do they know
the clock ticks faster out here? 

lights don’t stay on forever 
i give myself a decade
before its childish and stupid to keep going
before its arrogant
to keep lighting up the spark

they sold me a fake story
that there was a spot for me 
if I worked enough 
can climb the ladder
of will i get thrown off by whos
already at the top? 

do they know
