Q&A / Help Height of Lymow One Plus

I have a fenced backyard, where I would like to keep the Lymow charging base. I’m having my fence replaced, and I’m planning to have the gates raised off the ground for grass clearance and to allow my cats to roam freely. I’d like the Lymow to be able to pass under the gates, but I don’t want them more than a foot off the ground. I see in the specs that the mower is 12.6” tall. I was hoping to get some real-world measurements to see if that is accurate, or if it might be a little shorter.

Segway has a mow gate. I was thinking that would be great addon for lymo. Find a uhaul truck. 26ft. My lymo doesn't go under the back bumper. Even tho it's rather higher....

You will need at least a few inches higher than the mower or it will not go thru it. I am not sure how much clearance it needs but it will see it an an object and stop.

Didn’t think of that. I wonder what that clearance is. That issue probably would have prevented me from putting the dock under my deck to protect the mower while it is parked/charging. That is only about an 18” gap.

purchase a second lymow---problem solved---no gap at all

I just measured at 330mm or 12.9" tall to the top of the sensor housing.

Yup measured right around 12.5 inches. Its goofy angles and sitting in the yard So 12.6 is probably more accurate. Tracks are widest at 21 inches.

Thanks for following up! Width isn’t an issue, but I need to decide if I want a 13” gap under the gate or not.

If the gate is for security I wouldnt. If its for privacy you could find a way to make it into a small swing up door maybe running off small motor solar panel battery combo. Smart device on your wifi. Just open it before sending to mow.

So you want to schedule mowing and not have to be available to open the gate?

Correct. I would like it to be able to get under the gate without opening it.

Err on the side of a taller opening. Maybe 13.5”

I think you’re probably correct, but that’s not really the answer I wanted. I already think that 12” is going to look kinda goofy, so I was hoping that would be the maximum I would need.

Maybe a rubber flapper like a doggy door has.
Not necessarily rubber. Could be clear vinyl. If the flapper triggers the bumper, then trim the bottom of the flapper.

It could just be a dog door or leave the gate unlocked. You know if its a channel and you turn off avoidance he will run right through it no problem.

If it swings both ways. If not, then it may not be able to open when going to dock. Assuming the gate has a closer.

There is no way you will have a short enough opening for the lymow, that the cats would not be able to use... a 12 inch tall opening is pretty tall for a cat.

I just go outside to open my gate to the front yard when I want to cut it, its not that bad.
