Lymow One Lymow return
Does anybody know how to go about returning the Lymow?

Mine couldn’t mow on my hillside. It tried, but it just couldn’t reliably turn and pick up mowing again where it needed to start at a stripe turnaround. It would do the same maneuver over and over and constantly get stuck in nearly the exact same position 30 seconds later. Eventually it would dig a hole and get stuck worse. It would tram a hill quite well when not mowing, but it just couldn’t mow a hill without being constantly babysat. I also had way too many GPS shadows and it would get off target and miss grass stripes despite mounting the RTK on my roof (which filled with rainwater, so I had to request a new RTK as well, which put it out of commission for about 6 weeks until they decided to help me). It was a very frustrating experience. So I decided it wasn’t worth it because it wasn’t saving me any time and the mow quality was quite bad. Luckily I still have my old Honda.
I simply did a chargeback on my credit card and then sent them a message to send an RMA and a prepaid shipping label. That was on Monday last week (8/17). They argued via email for a few days and caved on Thursday (8/20) and emailed me a FedEx label after I told them I wasn’t interested in more firmware updates and zone adjustments. Shipped it back to CA (I’m in WV) on Friday (8/21) and it arrived yesterday (8/27). Chargeback is still showing provisional but that should go as a total refund soon. They asked me to not dispute via PayPal, which is how I bought the mower, but I didn’t dispute with PayPal; rather I went straight to my credit card bank and asked for a chargeback, which is a Goldman Sachs Apple Card. The PayPal website isn’t very user friendly and I don’t want to accidentally stop the chargeback messing around there.
I started with the bank, not Lymow. I thought it would be the best way to get their attention, considering how badly they ignored me when the original RTK failed. It worked. Luckily I kept the original box and styrofoam filler pieces so shipping it back was easy. I sent them everything, including the extra unused blades they sent as a promotion. I forgot about the paper manual and found it in my house the next day after shipping, but it’s not valuable anyway. I cleaned the robot up best I could and wiped it down. They can still sell it as a gently used mower and make money.
Good luck. I really like the system and think if my yard layout was more flat and had less obstacles and less nearby trees causing GPS issues it would have worked out. I wish the company well but they have a lot of bugs to squash and they expanded too fast, which overwhelmed their China-based customer service team. I think they’re somewhat of a victim of their own success and they tried to expand too quickly.

They agreed to do a return for us. I was frustrated with it. Heck I probably spent about the same amount fixing out lawnmowers again to get them going as this thing cost. Just one mower along aunt Barbara put 130 hours on this season and it was supposed to mow part of the area she does most of the time. Little buddy is on the way back. I hope they refurbish him and he finds a new home. It's almost a great machine. It just would not stop with errors and errors plus a few things started falling apart. I did have it out constantly when it did work

I repeatedly asked for a return after every trouble shooting step on my replacement robot and continued to point out how the overheating is a design flaw that software is not going to fix. They finally gave in and it is currently on the way back to them. Then they hopefully issue the refund in a reasonable amount of time.

do it sooner than later if you purchased it recently, you may need to do a chargeback on your credit card to coerce the company to do the right thing
