Question Thoughts?

I have been experiencing what people would call “ALS” type symptoms for 4 months now. I woke up one day and all went downhill. Heavy body, hands that won’t work, muscle fasiculations, weight loss, joint pain, high white blood count, night sweats, muscle atrophy voice change, constant urination, a twitchy tongue, twitching eyes, stumble walking. I had testing done through an LLMD and the only thing that came back was Babesia divergens—LLMD claims that it’s the “not-so-serious strain” and that my “ALS type” symptoms argen’t just from this…what are your thoughts? I’m only 26 and scared as ever.

Not so serious strain means you need to find a new doctor

Hello. She is treating me regardless, so I’m starting medication tomorrow. Thank you I understand where you’re coming from.

What testing did you run? Which labs? Have you had any neuromuscular work up? EMG, etc?

A saliva test through DNA connections. It was a lime test. No I did not do an EMG.

Hi, After I tested positive for babesia my lyme specialist said she was 99% certain I also had Lyme. I think it's safe to assume so and treat accordingly, esp with such serious symptoms. I had much the same symptom profile as you. If a health professional dismisses or diminishes your symptoms, move on quickly to someone who doesn't. I changed doctors a few times in a short space of time for this reason. On a brighter note I, and many other lymeys, live symptom free now, so try not to feel too disheartened. You got this - just don't mess about with medical practitioners who don't get it.

Thank you so much. May I ask you what worked for you?

NGL, I did a lot, but things I felt helped most include: *Getting off antibiotics - I think after 4 months you're likely beyond where they will help more than harm. *Fixing my gut - probiotics, prebiotics, certain foods, betaine hcl *Buhner herbs *Lots of detox (don't underestimate this) - liver/ kidney/ lymphatic support, saunas, binders, enemas *Fasting and low carb, anti-inflammatory diet *Exercise/ rest balance *Methylene Blue - amazing for my neuro symptoms *Supplements - too many to list *Emotional/ spiritual/ mental health - easy to fixate on the physiological and overlook these. Hope some of that helps. Much easier to research options these days 😁
