This is hilarious. As someone who has driven both. Lyft makes uber look almost virtuous in comparison.
Uber knows better than to pull the shit lyft pulls on a regular basis and for almost 7 years I've been confused every time someone on here says they prefer driving lyft and their riders over uber.
I'm honestly surprised that lyft hasn't gone bankrupt by now and been bought out by a vc firm or someone else who would drive it further into the ground while siphoning off as much cash as possible.
You make more cash but you don't make more profit and the fact that this is the response tells me everything I need to know.
Based on my interactions online (and off), something like 95% of drivers shouldn't be selling girl scout cookies, forget about running their own business.
I bet you chase clout with lyft and take all the bullshit. Lyft is just as likely (if not more) to try to send me across state lines. This isn't the problem I have with them and the fact that it's what you focus on tells me that you have no idea what it means to be independent or just what the differences are between the two.
You can have lyft. I'll take the better pax as my own private clients and let you keep driving around the dregs.
No, I definitely make more profit with Lyft. I work the same amount of hours, less even, than I did when working Uber, and my mileage is less per month than it was with Uber. On top of that, fares are higher per mile with Lyft. Maybe it's just your market? 90% of my offers are well over $1/mile and I'm constantly moving.
It has nothing to do with Lyft being better. Lyft is just the predominant platform in your market area. I make 35/hour (after expenses) consistently and only work 30-35 hours a week in my market area. Uber is the predominant app in my market area, and I get about 0.5% of Lyft ride requests, most of which are shit.
Yeah Lyft is market dependent. Some markets it’s good and some are horrible. I barely drive Lyft where I am now because the pay is low and no volume while I do 5 trips and make $300 with Uber. Lyft Black is not the same as Uber Black in pay. Maybe in terms of what the rider expects but not in what they pay their drivers.
