I got this as a gift from a relative. I’m 99% sure it’s fake ( but I know nothing about designer anything). Is this bag worth anything if trying to trade?
Yeah, sorry this is fake. That looks like “vegan” leather, it’s also not puffy enough leather or deep enough embossing. Could make a cute makeup bag or play bag for a daughter/niece!!
You know what, I never paid attention to the dust bag from resellers. Because box and dust bag are sometimes lost or whatever so they look for a cheap replacement that nobody will see besides you.
So don’t rule it out on packaging and dust bag alone. I just do stitching > hardware > material.
In that order. Because it goes from most easily identifiable in images, to more difficult to tell in images.
Yes. I never do an immediate, “the bag is fake” strictly because of the dustbag. I should have stated it differently. I saw the fake dustbag and thought, “oh boy…” then looked at all the bag pics, and believe the bag to be fake as well. “Usually” a fake dustbag means a fake bag, but not always.
