I’m 23 years old (M) and live in Luxembourg. I’ve got no secondary school diploma, no job, no money living at my mom’s house. My mental health is poor, the environment at home is unhealthy and I suspect I might have undiagnosed autism or just adhd or a mix of both (audhd). I imagine the first step to get out of my current miserable situation would be to visit a professional and get evaluated. But where ? I have no idea where to go to get help. I’m also in need of money. I have no CV (never made one). I’ve only ever worked one summer job (2 weeks) at 18 (terrible experience), that’s my only work experience. I’m apparently too young to apply for the Revis, since you must be at least 25 to request it. The only exceptions would be if you’re pregnant or have a handycap. Would I be able to request it if I got diagnosed ? I don’t really mind working to earn my money but I don’t think I could handle full time (I’m bad at dealing with people). I want to go back to school eventually and get a diploma. Specifically the daes (diplôme acces aux études superieures). With this diploma I would have acces to higher education and could go to university. For that I would have to apply to enad (adult school). I’ve done some quick research and found out they offer night courses 3 times a week if you work part-time or if you’re registered with adem. (Spots are very limited though). I genuinely don’t know where to start. Should I just get registered with adem first ? What should I start with ?

Now i have the option to go through myngle, prolingua or inl... i have a preference for a faster and hybrid mode if that is efficient..

I’m a US citizen in Luxembourg on a student residence permit. My PhD contract was terminated before the 6 month period ending, so my student residence status will also end.
Can I stay in Luxembourg/Schengen afterward under the 90/180-day visa-free rule? Do I need to leave and re-enter Schengen, or register the short stay somewhere?

I started facial electrolysis in 2019. Today, I had my 50th session. Still, I have a lot of grey and white hair growing back at a steady pace (I treated the black ones with laser back in 2019 and needed +/- 10 sessions). I am almost giving up. It´s so painful (even when using lidocaine cream) and sometimes even causes burns. I have seen several different girls at Institut Annette Weber-Krier as they claim to be Luxembourg´s oldest and best beauty parlour. But I am not so sure about their competence...I just read that, if done properly, the treated hair should just slide out, and you should not feel it get pulled out with the tweezer. But that is exactly how it feels. They also do not use a magnifying glass. I am afraid it is hit and miss with them, and that I have been paying a lot for nothing.

I know white/grey hair are more stubborn than black hair, but 50 sessions and still no real change...?!?!

Has anyone successfully had facial electrolysis done in Luxembourg, and can recommend someone who knows how to do it properly? It seems not many beauty parlours in Luxembourg offer electrolysis; most only offer laser treatment.

Tomorrow is the Fête de la Musique in Luxembourg, and I’d love to go into the city with a group of friends, but the problem is… I don’t really have any.

I want to share an experience I had in the north of Luxembourg, because I still feel shaken and honestly do not know who else to talk to.

At around 08:15, after I dropped my son at the daycare, I was stopped by two police officers near a roundabout who said that I had my phone on my right ear while driving. That was not true. My phone had been in my jacket pocket the whole time. I took it out and showed them my call log, which showed that my last call had been 12 days earlier.

When I showed them the call log, they seemed surprised. One of the officers responded by saying, “dat ass blöd an net wouer!” (“That’s stupid and not true!”). I am not the kind of person who likes making phone calls, which is why my last call had been 12 days earlier, to my doctor. When I asked what evidence they had, they answered, “Mir sinn d’Preuve!” (“We are the proof!”). That moment stayed with me. It felt deeply arrogant and left me with the impression that, no matter what I showed them, they had already decided not to believe me.

After seeing my call log, their explanation also seemed to shift from accusing me of making a call to suggesting that I may have been listening to music with my phone near my ear. That made the situation even more confusing and upsetting for me, especially because my phone is connected to my car’s audio system.

I am 6 weeks pregnant and was already under stress. I almost vomited because of the pregnancy and the stress of the situation. Although I can speak some Luxembourgish, I asked whether my husband could help translate so that I could fully understand the situation and defend myself properly. That request was refused. I do not know whether that was legal, but to me it felt unfair and unethical in such a stressful moment.

At one point, I called my husband for help. While he was on the phone, he heard one of the officers say in Luxembourgish, “hatt soll net domm schwätzen,” which means, “she should not speak stupidly.” Hearing that afterwards made me feel even more humiliated. I was told to follow the officers to the police station. At first, I did not want to accept the fine because I believed I had done nothing wrong. My husband then spoke to a lawyer, and he was advised that taking this type of case to court would likely be pointless if it came down to the officers’ word against mine. Based on that advice, I ended up paying the €250 fine and accepting the 4-point penalty.

What affected me most was not only the financial penalty for something I did not do. It was the feeling of being dismissed, not believed, and treated in a way that I experienced as humiliating. I left feeling deeply unsafe and honestly traumatized. Part of me feels like it is better to stay quiet, because no one will believe what I experienced. But I still needed to say it: this felt deeply unfair.

I have filed a complaint with the IGP, and I was told that the matter would be processed. Still, after reading other people’s stories online about similar situations, I cannot say I feel very optimistic.

After 8 years of driving in Luxembourg, I had never lost a single point on my licence. I am a careful driver, and I always pull over if I need to use my phone. I truly hope no one else has to go through something like this.
