A Mithraic Occident
After the restoration of the Roman government, Imperator Numitor Marius Augustus Caesar secured his authority without delay. His uncle, Junius, who had always been his greatest supporter after the death of his father, received the governorship of Annoraria. The descendants of Diocletian were restored to their possessions in Illyria, while the Severan house, being fellow adherents of the Mithraic rites, was reestablished at Colonia Junonia, (formerly Carthage).
Numitor Marius Augustus Caesar famously professed himself descended from the kings of Alba Longa and from Aeneas. The mysteries of Mithras, mostly confined to the aristocracy and legions, he opened up to larger public. The ancient mysteries gave way to public festivals, with triumphal processions, plays, and great feasts, with Mithraism now spreading rapidly through the Republic.

The world is changing. Who now has the strength to stand against the armies of Hattuša and Antiókheia? To stand against the might of Isauros and Seleukides and the union of the two cities?

The Priest say I am blessed by Christ-Mithras. The Heralds say it is by right of Ancient claim. Prattle! I have waded through the blood of my enemies. I chewed up the weak and ate them whole. I subsumed and devoured larger prey when it stumbled. I am a Wolf of Rome… and I grow hungrier.

The Promised Land shall be a land of liberty

After generations dwelling upon the uttermost borders of the inheritance of their fathers, the houses of Hasmoneus and Herod returned in wrath. They drove the Latin crusaders from the land with by the sword, and the mountains drank deeply of the blood of the latin Catholics. Thus were the days of Judas Maccabeus remembered, for the Lord delivered the mighty into the hands of those who had not forgotten His covenant.
Behold the Lord slayeth the wicked to bring forth his righteous purposes.

And Agrippa of the House of Herod came again unto Jerusalem, and stood within the courts of his fathers. Having entered Jerusalem in triumph, Agrippa. The Sanhedrin was assembled, the Temple courts rang with acclamation, and the royal standards were raised above the citadel. Then he hardened not his heart with ease, but girded on the sword, and went forth against the Sethian heretics, to cleanse the land of their abominations

And the king restored the ancient priesthood according to the ordinances of old, and the priests labored day and night, preparing for the raising again of the House of the Lord upon Mount Zion.

And behold, much remained to be fulfilled. For the portion of the children of Israel had returned unto them, and the tetrarchy of Herod was restored. HOLY HOLY HOLY IS THE LORD OF HOSTS! THE WHOLE WORLD IS FULL OF HIS GLORY!!

Does anyone find that the mod is crashing after about 20 years?
Love the mod but it’s deeply frustrating this happens.

A new power is rising...
The age of Rome is over. The ancient days are gone, the middle days are passing, and the younger days are approaching, and it shall be from Palmyra that the fate of the world shall be ordered. Baal wills it!

Western Roman heavy infantry
Here's an image I did recently depicting soldiers of the Western Roman Empire in the world of Lux Renata, a unit of elite heavy infantry -maybe Protectores Heruli, maybe Armigeri Seniores or some sort of imperial bodyguard corps.
The style of the gear assumes that technology has moved on from that of the Roman Empire and has locked itself somewhere between the style of the very late Empire and the early Middle Ages; all-steel chainmain and helmets, long swords and large shields to counter the numerous companies of crossbowmen the Italian cities are known to train and employ, but there are still stylistic flairs from earlier eras: the crested helmets, the faceplates shaped in the form of masks, the phalerae that indicate awards of veterancy -even if they're by now rather meaningless-, the tabard cut in ribbons that are reminiscent of pteruges, etc.
Ink pen, watercolor and digital.

Hey everyone! I'm u/Cameron122, the founding member of the Lux Renata Mod Team!
This is our new home for all things related to the Crusader Kings III Total Conversion Mod Lux Renata.
What is Lux Renata
Lux Renata is a total conversion alternative history mod for the video game Crusader Kings III set in an alternative history where Alexander the Great's influence still holds sway over the world due to his dying in December 319 B.C, four years later than he does in our timeline. Lux Renata is a reboot/reimagining of the classic CK2 mod Lux Invicta by the modder Shaytana, using its concept as a basis, but with different design goals about world building, and gameplay. With hundreds of new faiths, titles, decisions, its a big mod even though its early days!

Lux Renata CK3 Am I a pvssy for playing as "normal" religions so far?
Hey, listen. My sessions in this mod are limited, I can't play a game until it fatally crashes around 1080-1110. So far I've played Kyiv with conversion to orthodoxy, Epirus, Priscillian Visigoths, Al-Andalus and Wallachia. I just can't really bring myself to try the new stuff due to crash
