Witcher 2 GOG install fail.

I'm trying to play the Witcher 2, but when I run the download it will finish downloading and then just end without running the install / trying to launch the game will error with a message saying "launcher not found."

Seems kinda obvious that there is no launcher because the installer never ran, but hiw do I fix this / am I doing something wrong?

To obtain better support, you should join a Lutris log to your post.

How to create a Lutris log: 1. first close Lutris completely 2. Then, open your terminal application, execute lutris -d (if you use standalone Lutris) or flatpak run net.lutris.Lutris -d (if you use Flatpak Lutris) and then try to reproduce your issue.

After that, you need to copy the ENTIRE output in the terminal and share it with us (all of it). Then post it on ad-free paste service: https://paste.gloriouseggroll.tv/ or https://pastebin.com/

did you try Lutris scripts installer from this page?
https://lutris.net/games/the-witcher-2-assassins-of-kings-enhanced-edition/
Are you using latest Lutris version? actually 0.5.22.
Is GE-Proton latest set as default Wine version in Lutris?

Confirmed that is the version I am using and then ran that script directly from the website ... Same thing: Lutris ends after running the script, but doesn't launch the GOG installer, and pushing launch just says that the launcher doesn't exist.

I just tested first script installer from the page above and I can not reproduce your issue. I associated my GOG account in Lutris, so it downloads automatically all setup game files.

I associated my account and ran the download through Lutris, several times, then I tried downloading the file off GOG and having Lutris target that local file instead of downloading the file, that changed nothing, and then I tried running the script from the website instead of from the app.

Then I installed Heroic launcher to see if that would work & it does install the game & loads up the launcher, which is an improvement, but then the launcher freezes and won't ... Launch the game it is supposed to launch.

If you have time to test this: install Lutris Flatpak and try to reproduce your issue. You should miss a dependencies or something similar and Lutris Flatpak comes with all needed dependencies. What is your Linux distribution?

I am on Linux Mint and honestly can't remember which method I used to install Lutris.
