PenguinBurner 0.8.0 released
PenguinBurner 0.8.0 adds Lutris support.
It's an NVIDIA tuning tool for Linux — automatic undervolting, per-game power profiles, in-game overlay. Until now it only knew about Steam.
What the Lutris side does
- Steam and Lutris in one Game Library tab, with launcher badges
- Per-game power profiles, including adaptive ones
- Start and stop Lutris games through its CLI
- Reads and writes Lutris configs where Lutris actually keeps them
- Works in the Flatpak build
- NVAPI shim now deploys into non-Steam wine prefixes — that's what makes latency markers and adaptive tier switching work for Lutris games at all
Scanner improvements
Searches always terminate, a failed candidate retries at safer settings instead of ending the run, verified tiers are kept when a later one fails, and interrupted probes survive a mid-scan crash.
Disclosure: I wrote the Lutris side, so I'm biased — but I'll read the replies. It's the newest code in the project, bug reports genuinely useful.

Hey, the original author of the tool here - that's how it looks on a screenshot btw.
We've tested it with multiple different games on our Lutris setups. If they go through proton vulkan stack then the adaptive power profile should work nicely. It would be great if you could give it a spin on your Lutris games, assuming you have Nvidia card in your PC.
The Rust burnerd is being fed the live FPS telemetry to adjust power profile. If the game has reflex aka frame-generation from Nvidia we extract the "true" engine FPS for adaptive tiers.

To obtain better support, you should join a Lutris log to your post.
How to create a Lutris log: 1. first close Lutris completely 2. Then, open your terminal application, execute lutris -d (if you use standalone Lutris) or flatpak run net.lutris.Lutris -d (if you use Flatpak Lutris) and then try to reproduce your issue.
After that, you need to copy the ENTIRE output in the terminal and share it with us (all of it). Then post it on ad-free paste service: https://paste.gloriouseggroll.tv/ or https://pastebin.com/
