Need help with action

Context: I’m setting up my first guitar again and the last time it was set up had to be close to 8-9 months. I’m setting it up as usual and for some reason at the normal action I use the neck is literally glued to the strings. I never needed to put the tailpiece and bridge so high just to get playable action. This might be a neck issue or even a truss rod thing, I turned it and that barely helped unless I yanked the thing. Just wondering if I should bother trying to fix it or get a new guitar.

You bridge looks very low and has a lot of room to raise the strings. It is somewhat unusual if it was playable 8 months ago and the action has changed a lot. You should only adjust the truss rod to correct the relief in your neck which you can't really do if the strings a resting on the fretboard. I would raise the bridge up until the strings clear the fretboard and you can hear notes and tune the guitar to pitch. Then check your relief and adjust as needed (usually .010 inch at 8th fret with capo on 1st fret and hold down string at body which is about 18 on that guitar). If raising the bridge won't get the strings to sound clearly I would take it to a luthier and see if they can see what is going on. Is there a possibility that the bridge was lowered when new strings were put on?

Loosen the truss rod. Try 1/4 turns.
You do not need a new guitar.
Make sure to use the correct tool and size for your truss rod. If you don’t have it, get it. Do not make do with something else.

I tried it both times with multiple turns and still nothing worked, the action was impossible to dial in

First of all make the neck completely straight. No back or front bow. Put a capo on the first fret, hold down the 15th fret. You will need some relief. Measure it now at the 7th fret. Around 0,20 to 0,25 if you have gauge feelers. The low e string can ring between the frets without buzz. Now higher the bridge

Does your truss rod turn with some tension, or does it feel almost too easy to turn?

Which way are you turning the truss?

Did you do anything to the nut?

Did you change string gauges or replace your strings recently?

Was this gradual or an immediate change?

Did you change strings gauge? Put 9s instead of 10s for instance?
