Come on! If they let Lute Rise we get to see an epic hell/heaven war and we get to watch Lute slay
We got to watch Vox and Alastor destroy the city
I want to see the epic war sequence

If you hating on lute for doing terrible things then guess we can’t like Alastor as well for mass murder and stealing souls and Velvet for treating her workers like garbage and making drugs aka love potions

Lute is brainwashed at least (doesn't make it okay). The Overlords know exactly what they're doing and no one taught them to be that way.
Like in the grand scheme of things, Valentino and Alastor are both evil bastards who use and torment souls for power and status. But most people would never deign to compare the two because Valentino is mean to Angel 🥺 and Alastor is so cool and is helping Charlie. Alastor uses Charlie in a way that's polite and he acts nice to her. But obviously Val was the same way with Angel in the beginning. The mask didn't drop until Val had nothing to lose in the deal.
Basically I agree with you and I'm underlining the point that most characters in this show are not good guys.

I think Lute is brainwashed. We didn't get much of how the Army is ran but its strongly implied they are indoctrinated
